Ode to Rotten Tater

On the Occasion of Ronald David’s birthday, I feel it only appropriate that I post some "Ron" Trivia Questions:

1) Who gave Ron the nickname “Rotten Tater?”
2) What rank did he achieve as a Boy Scout?
3) What vehicle did he first drive?

If you would like to enter the Rotten Tater trivia contest, write your answers on the back of a twenty dollar bill and send it to me. The grand prize is an all expense paid trip to Orleans, Indiana.

That's a nice Ode for an Old Rotten Tater. But Taters don't get old they just rot away...and usually start stinking to high heaven. Plant a piece of a tater and you will get fresh ones. That means you can always count on a tater to be around. So a little tater goes a long way.

It was Ron what named hisself Rotten tater, on account of he had a speech impediment, an couldn't say R's or D's. As a youth, when asked to name the furry mammal with long floppy ears, he'd say: "wabbit". When asked his name, "Wotten Tato" or something like it.

He was an eagle scout. I believe he acheived this rank at camp Wipe my Heiney.

First vehicle: Hmmmmmm Mercury ghetto cruiser of some sort. It had furry dice hanging from the rear view mirror, and a bobble head of some sort on the dash.

Happy Birthday Brother. And many many more.

The car was a Mercury Park Lane "I think". It was burgundy in color and it had a rear window that rolled down by electric control. It had an excellent sound system and a state-of-the-art 8 track cassette player and speakers in front and rear. I seem to remember Jethro Tull (or was it Alice Cooper?) being played at high volume as we cruised to the high school. I believe this car was even at Beaver Island at some time.

Happy Belated Birthday Wonald

I agree, that the first vehicle Ron OWNED was a Mercury Park Lane, but the first one he drove was 1968 Volkswagen Van, also dubbed the blue goose.
