Douglas was born a poor white child, in Bedford IN.
He was driving a motorbike with a sidecar when the marshall chased him.
Fellow hoodlums: ??? A Coleman,,The same guy that stole dads Corvette??????? no idea.
He was 17 when he joined the Marines. Finished a Sargeant.

Doug and Marilyn were born in Dayton. Ron and Joe were born in Bedford. Dennis was born in Cincinati. John, Teresa, Anna and James were born in Mariemount, Ohio. Howard joined us in Brooklyn after his complicated birth in Indianapolis.
Durning the Great Chase Doug was driving a souped up Moped. (no side car)
I think 17 and sergent is correct.
Oh...forgot the hoodlums. Doug Coleman was Doug W's main partner in crime. I can't remember the name of the other but think it was the older brother of Ron's hoodlum friend. (You know...the one that stoled and wrecked Dad's pride and joy, the Rambler Ambasador convertable...the one that ended up in prison for kidnaping and cutting off ear of the abductee...you know...the family that lived behind us, kitty corner to the north...) Drat! It will now drive me crazy until I can come up with a name.
Teddy Powell lived across from the new school. He was Joe's age. He got shipped off to military school to try and cure him of homosexual tendancies.
There was also a Doug Powell that lived in Brooklyn Hights that was Joe's age. He may have had an older brother that was Doug W's age and a fellow hoodlum. I just can't recall. I do knot that Doug Powell fell into the hoodlum class. (Mat Colemen and Dave Tansel pressured Joe to beat up Doug Powell once...just the Brooklyn way of establishing the pecking order)
Oh..Oh..Oh! Was Ronald's hoodlum freind named Len Krause (sp?) and did he have an older hoodlum brother that was Doug's age named Kevin Krause? (Being from Brooklyn, it may have been Kevin K. Krause).
There was no "Dave" Tansel, it was Bill or Billy.
